There is no information with this photograph but the history of this now defunct auto marque is fascinating. Crosley only produced cars from 1939 to 1952. They got 50 miles per gallon and Crosley was the last company in the United States to cease production of civilian vehicles during W.W. II.

My dad, Eddy Rourke, worked for McClellan around the early 50s if I’m not mistaken. I left Jacksonville in 1954 for USAF. Remaining west of the Mississippi, I graduated from University of Tulsa (OK) and became professional writer–reporter, freelancer, author, poet. Now live in Oklahoma. Have enjoyed seeing some of the old Jax photos. Wouldn’t know the place if you dropped me in the middle of Main Street!
I believe this photo was taken on Pablo Avenue in Jacksonville Beach, one block east of City Hall. The building in the background is the USO that was located in the 100 block of N. 2nd Street.
