Crouching Woman, Leaping Man

A random image from one of Loyd Sandgren’s Theatre albums.  This image is in the same category as the photo of a man balancing on a chair.  I don’t know what it is about but I like it!

Greyhound Ticket Window

A transaction taking place at the ticket window of the Greyhound Bus station in downtown Jacksonville.  I’d place this photograph from the late 1940’s or early 1950’s and it was probably the Bay and Hogan Street location which predated the current Greyhound station downtown.  Great informational signage.

Little Big Man

Bodybuilder Gene Hill with an unidentified bathing beauty at one of Jacksonville’s beaches in the early 1960’s.  Admit it, as corny as it is we’ve all taken one of these shots at some point in our lives.

From clothing styles to […]

James R. Stockton Sr. in front of a portrait of his father Telfair Stockton, seated at his desk in the old Atlantic Bank Building in downtown Jacksonville in the early 1950’s.   Telfair Stockton founded Telfair Stockton and Co. in the late 1800’s and played a major role in establishing Jacksonville as a port city.  […]

Gun Lovers

Happy couple with bolt action rifle taking aim at something across the St. Johns River.  How I wish Loyd left a note telling us the story behind this photo!  I guess we are free to let our imaginations run wild…

Catch Of The Day

No information with the original print but I’m guessing this stylish fisherman was photographed in the late 1940’s.  Nice Tarpon!
