Foundation work underway for the Atlantic Bank Building at the corner of Forsyth and Hogan Streets in downtown Jacksonville, 1951.  This earlier post shows the finished project.

    Isn’t it amazing how the contractors knew the exact spot to place the steel pilings in a building foundation. The key was to be a master of mathematics of which I was a poor student who passed only by the “skin of my teeth.”
